So I've got a pretty damn good car, and I'd like to keep it running for quite a while. Unfortunately, it's past owners (ie: my brothers) didn't take much of an initiative to keep things up, running, and repaired. (Not to say its not functional, but it has a few minor inconveniences.) And thus, I've created a list of items to be repaired on it.
In no particular order, I present to you...
The Ultimate List of Graham's Car Repairs
Oil ChangeA/C System- Dome Light
- Glove Box
- Door Handle
- Speaker Covers
- Bumper
- Rust
- Body Work
- Paint Job
It was replaced just two years ago, so it can't be that expensive.
Dome Light
For several years now, the dome light that turns on when the car door
opens has been burned out. This won't be hard, I just need to get the
bulbs.
Glove Box
The glove box's locking mechanism was broken from over-use several years
ago. It's locked permanently shut, and I think I still have $10 in change
in there from the trip we were on.
We've had a mechanic take a look at it, and they're not sure what's up.
We're thinking of calling a locksmith, and, failing that, go to the dealer.
Door Handle
Somehow, the driver's side inside door handle has fallen out of it's hole.
It doesn't make it impossible to open the door, just slightly less convenient
because you have to manually yank on the rod that the door handle would yank
for you.
I've tried replacing the door handle before, but the rod keeps slipping
out of the hook on the handle itself.
It'll be a simple fix, just a trip down to the dealer.
Speaker Covers
When my brother first got this car, he got a replacement sound system
and speaker set. When they replaced the speakers, they had to remove the
old speaker covers. For some reason, they don't fit on top any more (not to
mention they don't have a logical attachment for the speaker covers.)
Bumper
The bumper got got on a wheel stop some time ago by someone, and it
started the process of removing the bumper from the car. It's still well
attached on one side, but is having some problems on the other. It's not in
danger of falling off, it's just not well attached on one side, and can be
pushed in/pulled out a touch. It's not dangerous (as far as I know) but would
be very expensive to fix ($1,000 or so.)
Rust
In a number of spots on the car, there have been a couple of scratches
down to the metal. These spots have started to rust in a couple of places,
and could do with some buffing and primer to prevent it's spread.
Body Work
The car could use some general body work in various places, nothing too
serious.
Paint Job
Unfortunately much cheaper than the bumper, rust, and body work all combined,
it requires the other work to happen before this can happen.
The car has some nasty scraping on the right rear of the car, and would
look much better with some fresh paint.
Hey, a/c should be easy. Open the hood of the car, read some of the stickers. They should say that it is R-134 refrig., or you should be able to find that out. Then you can get a refil at the auto parts store. The speaker covers didnt fit witht hte new speakers, thats why they are off, you might be able to find some after market covers that attach to the speakers. ALl the other stuff could get expensive, well, except the dome light. good luck.
i had a nice reply, but then it pissed me off because i needed an email. to hell with it
